Hi Cindy
I got your email about the fact you and Belinda are working on producing your own CD! That's really exciting - can you tell us more about it? Is it just the two of you, are they original songs, what gave you the idea to do it?

Actually the belly dancers at Crescent Moon had begged and begged for a cd of the pieces they have heard us play. So last year we threw one together very fast with just my drum and belindas clarinet as if we were performing at one of our regular venues. The dancers wanted it so they could reherse their routines with the cd and then use us to play live for them at a show.
We have accumulated so much music now that we wanted to do a cd and really layer more instruments on it. This CD will be traditional favorite pieces that are slow. We are adding lots of instruments on it that really flesh out the music. So to answer your specific questions
Belinda and I will be the only two musicians on the CD, Angie Lockhart will do vocals on Miserlou and Adieu Carina.
Other CD's are on the drawing board and we are having a blast with the planning and recording.
I have also learned how to do Henna and am having a blast with it. I will keep you posted on the CD and let you know when it is available. |
